In July, I had the pleasure of getting together with and shooting some portraits of Anna Shkuratoff not once, but twice. The first time, we ventured to Mt. Tolmie to snap some video and photos, and played around with a prism to achieve some interesting effects in-camera. The second time we set up my kitchen studio with some crazy lighting (including some flash gels) and some more prisming and had a total blast. Since I'm catching up on photos, I've decided

Music. Beer. Crazy weather. What more could you want from a music festival? The Backyard Weekender is a fabulous event, hosted quite literally in Phillips Brewery's backyard - loading dock, to be specific.I had only been to the Weekender once before, in 2013, so it was great to return. Friday night, nearly 3000 festivalgoers braved the rains to take in some fantastic music - including a surprise Funk Hunters set when Talib Kweli was delayed - and it was totally worth

Rock The Shores is always one of the highlights of my summer, boasting huge bands that we don't normally get to see here in Victoria, and this year was no exception. Headlined by the Black Keys, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Jane's Addiction, this year was one of the best lineups yet. I had an absolutely incredible time shooting the festival for idobi Radio (you can see a mini selection of photos on their site here) and can't

On August 17th, I had the pleasure of venturing over to Vancouver to shoot Against Me!'s headlining show at my favourite venue, the Vogue Theatre. The show was absolutely amazing, and I was blown away by every band, and especially by Against Me!. Laura Jane Grace is a total babe, and a force to be reckoned with. If you haven't checked out her True Trans docu-series on YouTube, I highly recommend it - the series is incredibly well done, insightful,

Ahhh, Tall Tree. Situated on Brown's Mountain in Port Renfrew, BC, the main stage is surrounded by mountains and boasts a glorious view of the ocean. Festival-goers were treated to some amazing (and extremely hot) weather this year, complete with absolutely gorgeous sunsets. This is my third year attending the festival, and it is always a highlight of my year. The weather conditions can and will be adverse (2013 was relatively tame with a mix of sun and cloud, 2014 was

Back in March, I had a chance to work with some of my favourite dudes in Bodies and shoot some promotional images. We knew we wanted to go for a film aesthetic, so most of the shoot was done on film. I used my Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD with Lomo 400 film, my Nikon FM with cheap Fuji Superia 200 film, and snapped a few digital shots as well. It was an absolute blast working with these guys and I can't wait
