Travel // Palm Springs, CA Pt. 1

Back in February, I had the pleasure of traveling to Palm Springs, California for a week. It was a blissfully sunny week, equal parts spent relaxing and exploring/hiking. The town is incredibly charming and quirky, with '60s modernism influences abound. Nestled in a valley between mountains, the city itself is very flat with hardly a high rise building in sight. Also, yes, the sky is that blue. No filter required.Things to do in Palm Springs:That Pink Door (1100 E Sierra Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264) The architectural history and weirdness of Palm Springs equates to fun surprises around every corner. One of my favourite spots to visit was the infamous 'Pink Door' - nearby is also a house with two lion statues decked out with inflatable pool toys! (Both houses pictured below) ...

Live Music // All Time Low, Set It Off, Nova Rockafeller @ Vogue Theatre

Recently, I had the pleasure of making the trek to see and shoot All Time Low in Vancouver BC at the Vogue Theatre. Not only is this venue my favourite to shoot at, All Time Low have been on my bucket list to shoot FOREVER. To be entirely honest, I haven't listened to them frequently since their 2009 album Nothing Personal came out, but it's easy to see why their new album Future Hearts is blowing up. This band has worked hard for years to get to where they are. Funny enough, the day of the show (September 27th) was my five year anniversary of shooting shows! I don't think there could have been a better way (or show!) to celebrate. Openers Nova Rockafeller and Set It Off were equally as...

New York City//Toronto (Summer 2014)

I've been fortunate enough to do a lot of travelling over this past summer. It's been an amazing experience, getting to know so many new places and what they're all about. One of my summer highlights was travelling to New York City (August 20-25) and Toronto (August 26-September 2). I travelled alone, with no set plan other than where I was staying and who I was seeing. It ended up being one of the most inspiring and rewarding two weeks of my life, and I'm so glad that the trip panned out like it did. I got to see the Arcade Fire once in each city (SO GOOD) and see so many amazing people (thanks Brad, Bec, Sophia, Eleanor, Clarissa, Jasmine, Anna and everyone else who made my trip as amazing as...

Hawaii Day 4-5 (June 15-16, 2014)

You know it's going to be a good day when you wake up in Hawaii to a rainbow.June 15th was nothing short of a spectacular day. After the speckles of rain left us to reveal a bright sunny day, we took off from our condo to head to the Iao Valley, which was nothing short of incredible. It took us forever to get a parking spot but it was absolutely worth the wait. We hiked up beyond where the paved footpath ends to reveal some stunning views of the valley that can't be seen from the main part. I wish we could have continued further, but we had quite a bit else planned for the day. We trekked down a little bit to check out the stream, which would have...

Hawaii Day 1-3 (June 12-14, 2014)

Why hello there! I've been on vacation in Hawaii (specifically, Maui) with Lindsay-Mae  since the night of June 11th, exploring and soaking in the heat. We've done some mini driving trips so far, driving down Highway 30 from our place near Kaanapali  to Kahului, stopping to stock up on food at Costco and keeping it pretty low key over all.  The second day, we went to the Maui Aquarium, drove to Big Beach near Makena and saw some awesome volcanic landscapes,  and went out for dinner in Kaanapali. The third day was pretty low-key, renting snorkel sets in the morning and exploring the beach in front of our place (we saw a sea turtle swim by!!!!! and a million colourful fish) before heading to Lahaina to check out the shops...
